ExpSeq

ExpSeq

Expseq is a eight step sequencer expression pedal that can control two pedals at once. Because after having turned any pedal into a Weird pedal I wanted to turn any other pedal into a Bubbles pedal. Its also perfect for controlling circuit bent toys and synthesizers (which is something I’ve long wanted to sequence!).

ExpSeq User Guide

The pedal uses 9VDC power (2.1mm jack: center-negative).

Info:

ExpSeq is a sequencer expression pedal. Internally there are two vactrols, a LED and a light controlled resistor (LCR). The sequencer sets the brightness of the LEDs and the LDR is then connected straight to the expression jack and becomes your potentiometer of sorts.

So the expression signal is resistor based, not CV (just like classic expression pedals that requires no power).

Controls:

The BIG Jacks are expression outputs.

The Small Jack is a 3.5mm CV clock source jack.

The Toggle Switch turns ExpSeq on/off.

The dotted Right Knob sets the amount of steps from 1-8.

Left Knob + Footswitch:

The sequencer has two modes of operation, taken from my other sequencer pedals. To change between modes ress and hold the left footswitch for about 2 seconds.

  1. Tap Tempo Mode, where you set the sequencer tempo by either tapping on the footswitch or adjusting the speed knob (without the dots).
  2. Manual Mode, where the sequencer is frozen and you move by either pressing the footswitch or connecting a 5V CV-Clock to the 3.5mm jack on the back.
